Excursions Sariska National Park Once, the hunting reserves of the Maharaja of Alwar, Sariska is now a protected area that houses many species of birds, animals and vegetation. Sariska's forests are typical of the Aravalis with their undulating terrain of low hills, steep escarpments, wide valleys and hill plateaus. A natural habitat for the tigers, the park holds large number of wildlife including the deer species (chital, sambhar, nilgai etc) and leopard, jungle cat, wild dogs. The thickly wooded jungles of Sariska also have variety of bird life that includes gray partridge, white-breasted kingfisher, and golden backed woodpecker and many more.
